Appointments

Non-urgent advice: To make an appointment

Tel: 0115 9332948

All consultations are by appointment. Please make routine appointments in person or by phone from 1:00pm  onwards Monday to Friday.

Appointments are available on the same day for acute problems. Please ring between 8.00am and 9.00am if you need to see a doctor on the same day.

Please ask for a longer appointment if you are aware you need extra time. If more than one member of the family is to be seen, please book separate appointments to avoid delays for other patients. Ideally, children under 16 years should be accompanied by an adult. Non-urgent appointments can be booked with a doctor up to four weeks in advance. You could also book a telephone consultation with any doctor for queries and reviews that do not need a face-to-face consultation.

Non-urgent advice: FOR EMERGENCIES

There is always an on-call doctor on duty. If you feel you need to be seen urgently you may find the receptionist asks for your telephone number for the on-call doctor or practice nurse to call you back. This is to establish the nature of your problem and whether you need telephone advice, a surgery appointment or a home visit.

Non-urgent advice: Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. The telephone lines are open at the surgery from 8am for cancellations. Cancellations can also be made by text.

You will also then be able to re-book your appointment at a time that is convenient to you.

If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Rushcliffe Enhanced Access Service

As a Rushcliffe patient you can access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours, for appointments between 6.30pm and 8pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 5.00pm at weekends. If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or First Contact Physiotherapist at one of four locations across the borough.

The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:
Cotgrave Surgery
Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
Keyworth Medical Practice
East Leake Health Centre
Radcliffe on Trent Health Centre

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ENHANCED HOURS APPOINTMENTS ARE PREBOOKABLE ONLY BY CONTACTING YOUR OWN GP PRACTICE.

THERE IS NO WALK IN SERVICE OFFERED.

IF YOU REQUIRE URGENT ASSISTANCE BEFORE 8AM OR AFTER 6.30PM, PLEASE CALL 111.

Home Visits

Patients whose illness prevents them from attending the surgery can be visited in their own homes. Requests for visits should be made by 10.00am. Please be ready to give the receptionist your name, address and telephone number, as the doctor may ring you back.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Chaperones

Sometimes it is helpful to both the patient and the doctor to have another person in the room during a physical examination. Please understand that you may ask for a chaperone to be present and the doctor will not be offended. The doctor themselves may also request another person to be present.
